This blog began when I road in the 2008 Scooter Cannonball Run, a coast to coast endurance event held every two years. I've continued using it for other long distance touring trips on the scooter.

SPOT Adventure Tracker for July 4th NH Trip

Made it to NH

Wednesday nights 180 mile to the Catskills was good weather. We left about an hour later than planned, which put the last 20 miles in the dark on dirt/gravel/paved combination of road. The Alpine Inn was alright. The website really plays it up.

Thursday was 300 miles in rain. The last 10 miles was a complete down pour. My gear held up good. Regular rain gear over the Rev-It riding clothing. My boxers were dry and toasty warm after 8 hours of rain riding. Had I wore the foot covers + riding jacket on top + heated gear, I would have been really comfortable.

GPS's worked fine. The 376c's weather NEXRAD was right on. There was no deviating to avoid weather on this trip, but knowing where there was a break in the weather made for nice gas and food stops.

Having problems with the SPOT tracker, I think its bad batteries. It keeps flashing a red light, makes me think we are in emergency mode.
